Do Good Fest came and went this past weekend in a flash of fireworks, food, and outstanding musical performances. With thousands of people in attendance and $36,000 raised for Branches of Hope cancer patient fund, this year’s Do Good Fest was one of the most successful to date.

The event started bright and early on the morning of July 14th. Bands performed their soundcheck, food vendors and non-profits rolled up the hill, and our army of volunteers assisted in any way they could. The forecasted day full of rain was in the back of everyone’s mind, but after a morning drizzle the weather cleared up and the sun came out just as crowds starting arriving.

Around 4:00 PM, Chad Hollister took the stage and immediately had people dancing. He was followed by Vermont native Caitlin Canty and the indie sound of SYML. Serena Ryder rocked the stage with her hit “Stompa” and before we knew it, Mehran was introducing Phillip Phillips from the stage.

Everyone simultaneously got to their feet and started to sway and sing along to his hit singles as well as his lesser known songs. At one point he forgot the words to a song he wrote for his wife called “Dance with Me” which added humor to the night as he paused and restarted the song twice. The acoustic set added to the charm of his presence as he closed the night out with a much-anticipated performance of “Home”.  Fireworks then flooded the night sky and closed out an extremely memorable Do Good Fest.

Thank you to everyone who made this event possible and to those who came and supported the cause. See you next year!
