You just never know when a disaster or crisis is going to strike and require a swift change in our operations.
That’s what happened in the Document Management Service’s mail area on the first floor this week.
Before the start of work, team members received a message from DMS leaders letting them know that a business continuity exercise would be taking place.
“The home office mailroom sorting area is off limits due to too much Valentines Love,” the notification said. “This area is off limits until further notice from Management.”
The message went on to offer instructions on to find the day’s mail in a conference room in the home office along with the business continuity plan mail recovery kit.
And that’s where the day’s work was done.
These are exercises that different areas of the company occasionally go through to be prepared in the event of the unexpected.
