A Kudos Award was presented to Deb LaRose for helping to make the Market Conduct and Compliance Team a partner with the business areas with which she works.
“Compliance too often is used as an excuse for why we can’t do something,” the Corporate Communications team said in the Kudos nomination. “Deb has demonstrated how compliance can be a partner in achieving business goals in new ways.”
An example of her partnership was how she helped the team boost its ability to market this year’s Do Good Fest.
When going over the social media plan with her for this year’s festival, she asked if SnapChat would be one of the platforms used to promote the concert.
“We weren’t because it wasn’t an approved social media platform,” the nomination said. “Deb provided a quick plan for how we could get approval for using SnapChat and then how to post to it in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.”
Additionally, Deb was praised for sharing ideas from her contacts elsewhere in the industry to improve our own work.
“She still makes sure we’re following the rules. But she helps to interpret them so we can make the most of what we’re trying to do.”
Deb won’t be able to use one of the perks that generally comes with the Kudos award. She’s a remote employee, so she doesn’t really need the reserved parking next to the building.
