One of the most rewarding initiatives that the Culture Team devised when it was formed last year was the series of “culture connections” that was held.

The connections were designed as a chance for employees to get together over coffee or snacks just to talk about what culture and cause means at National Life and how each of us contributes to it.

The first round resulted in around 10 percent of all employees sitting together in small groups just to talk about how each of us fits into the culture that CEO Mehran Assadi has spent so much time fostering.

Those who participated found them a good opportunity to learn about others around National Life.

So a new version of the series is getting started next week. Unlike last year, when individuals were invited to these sessions, the Culture Team has organized a few sessions and is issuing open invitations for people to participate.

There will be two sessions next week on the Vermont campus. There will be a lunch-and-lean at noon Tuesday in the Thrush meeting room. Grab your lunch and join some colleagues to talk about the company.

Then on Tuesday afternoon at 2 there will be a “snack and learn” in Thrush on the Vermont campus.

Texas is also planning a meeting on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Rio Grande on the ninth floor. Another session will be held on April 25 at 9 a.m. in Rio Grande.

Additional meetings on May 1 at 9 a.m., May 15 at 2 p.m. and May 22 at 9 a.m. We’ll let you know when we confirm where they’ll be held.
