Here is an update on CTO balances for the year.

On Friday, January 13th, employees will receive their first 2017 paycheck for hours worked between 12/25/2016 and 1/7/2017.  Because this pay period overlaps calendar years, we will be extending the use of 2016 CTO through January 6th, 2017.  This provides everyone with an additional week to use any remaining 2016 CTO before the year-end rollover.

 1.     CTO taken during the 12/25 to 1/7 pay period will be taken from your 2016 CTO.  Consistent with our CTO carry-over policy, a maximum of 40 hours of unused 2016 CTO may be carried over into 2017.

2.      As an exception to the above – if you have a zero 2016 CTO balance, please note that time taken between 12/25 and 1/7 will be deducted from your 2017 CTO.

3.   Non-exempt (hourly) employees only – 2017 CTO balances will be available in the Time Management portal on Friday, January 13th.  This new balance will include any 2016 CTO carryover.

To see how different scenarios might work, please refer to the CTO Examples 2016 to 2017 document located in the News & Updates section of the UltiPro portal.

 CTO Planning for 2017

There have been several inquiries regarding whether 2017 CTO can be scheduled prior to January 1st.  The answer is yes, but there is a 64 hour maximum.  What this means is that you can schedule your current CTO balance plus an additional 64 hours into the future.   In other words, if your 2016 CTO balance is zero you are still able to request up to 64 hours of CTO.

NOTE:  Scheduling too far into the New Year may prevent you from requesting additional 2016 CTO.  It is recommended to limit scheduling into the first quarter of 2017 only.
