The city of Montpelier has several major street construction projects under way this summer and one in particular will significantly affect the National Life campus.
Northfield Street, which is also Route 12, will be rebuilt from where it intersects Memorial Drive, Route 2, to the Montpelier/Berlin town line just south of the bridge carrying Interstate 89. That work starts in earnest next Tuesday and will require detours around the construction zone.
Please be aware that the section of Northfield Street from Memorial Drive to Derby Drive just southeast of our campus will be closed to all but local traffic.
Anyone headed to our campus will need to use National Life Drive. And National Life Drive will also be used as the detour for any traffic headed south on Route 12 toward Berlin.
You’ll want to plan in advance starting on Tuesday. The construction is expected to continue throughout the summer and into the fall.
