Mia Tanguay, daughter of NLIT’s Chris Tanguay, has been chosen to perform at the 2018 Middle School Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall!
Mia is one of a handful of middle school students chosen to showcase their talent at the world-class venue. Only the best singers and musicians from across the country, and some international schools, are invited.
Mia recorded two audition tracks last year that took ten hours to get just right. “I can try anything if I put my mind to it,” she said. “It was very nerve-wracking, because we had to memorize lots of songs. And I had to get all of the songs perfect throughout each time we recorded it.”
Though much of the students’ time is focused on performance preparation, the opportunity allows them to also experience the best of the sights and the performance arts in New York city.
Performances will take place this weekend, with Mia hitting the stage on Saturday. Students will perform for New York concert-going patrons, educators and family.
