Did you catch the photo of some of our Do Good volunteers out working in the community that was published on the front page of the newspaper last week?

We’ve been sending folks out across central and northern Vermont and Dallas lately to contribute some of our labor to nonprofits.

A photographer for the Times Argus in Montpelier happened by the Dog River Farm in Berlin when some of our volunteers were helping to glean for the Community Harvest of Central Vermont.

Laurence Comeau of the outbound payment center was harvesting chard at the farm and there she was on the front page of the Times Argus the next time wearing her distinctive Do Good volunteer shirt.

Volunteers have been at the North Texas Food Bank, a couple of Habitat for Humanity building projects and elsewhere, also. There are a bunch of photos that employees can access on National Life Today.

And there are more opportunities, as well.

If you’ve still got some of your 40 hours of paid time off left to volunteer, we’ve got opportunities in both Vermont and Texas. Here are a couple you can sign up for now:

  • The Kellogg-Hubbard Library is seeking volunteer support to come to the library to help the week of October 22-25. They need help packing up the books that are left from the current book sale which ends on October 19. Once the boxes are filled with books, they are stacked at one end of the room. Then each table is wiped down and the floor is swept. To sign up please contact Rachel Senechal at rysenechal@kellogghubbard.org.
  • The United Way is looking for volunteers to help with their annual mailing. This volunteer event will be held onsite, in the Eagle conference room. No need to sign up – just show up! October 16 starting at 1:00pm to the end of the day on October 18th.
