Affiliated Channel Announces Rod Hurowitz as Co-General Agent for Long Island Agency

The following announcement was distributed by Pam Blalock on Friday, September 3rd:

Rod Hurowitz

On behalf of the Affiliated Channel, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Rod Hurowitz as Co-General Agent for the Long Island Agency.

For the past five years, Rod has been an integral component to the growth and success of the Long Island Agency. He is a talented leader, recruiter, and conference producer with thirty years in the financial services industry. Building on the very solid foundation put in place by his partner Jay Goodman, we have every confidence that he will continue to work with Jay as his successor to grow the Agency.

Shortly after leaving a successful career at United Parcel Service (UPS), Rod joined Metropolitan Life in 1991 as a conference producer and was quickly moved into management. In 2011, he ascended to the role of Senior Agency Sales Director at Met Life, overseeing all aspects of his Agency’s growth, including recruiting, training, and hiring of staff. A perennial Top 5 manager at Met until he had the good fortune of meeting with Jay Goodman in 2016, when he decided to join National Life as an Associate General Agent.

Per Jay Goodman, “Rod is a leader of people who always puts other people first. I can say without equivocation that Rod is the very best individual that I’ve had the pleasure of working with in my 40+ years in the business. He has allowed me to plan my retirement knowing the firm is being left in the best hands possible.“

Rod and his wife Nancy have been happily married for 27 years and live in Mt Sinai, NY. They have two wonderful children: Nicole, a recent graduate of Stony Brook University, now working on her master’s in psychology, and son Nick who is a business major and stand out basketball player at Farmingdale State College.

Please help me congratulate Rod on this appointment as Co-General Agent to Quintessential Experience, our Long Island General Agency.
