The National Life Group Foundation recently donated $15,000 to Just Basics, Inc., also known as the Montpelier Food Shelf.
Kathy Reed, one of our colleagues and a long-time volunteer there, alerted us to the fact that the organization needed a new ventilation system so it can welcome guests back into the basement of the church out of which it operates. Those guests who rely on hot meals from Just Basics haven’t had the chance to have one in the space since the pandemic began.
Thanks to our donation as well as another, the nonprofit hopes to reopen the doors in January.
