Compliance’s Karolyn Bailey is doing a lot of good for children in Tarrant County, Texas. That’s because she’s a regular volunteer for a local chapter of the Royal Family Kids Camp, an organization that partners with Texas Child Protective Services to help abused and neglected children get back on their feet.

I WAS A VOLUNTEER AT THE JULY CAMP WHERE THERE WERE 107 CHILDREN. AS VOLUNTEERS, OUR NUMBER ONE JOB IS TO SHOW THE CHILDREN LOVE, HELP TEACH THEM SELF-RESPECT/WORTH AND KNOW THEY ARE IN A SAFE PLACE. – KAROLYN BAILEY

Karolyn is just one of the many volunteers that is helping the summer camp provide a safe space for children through various activities like crafting and artistry, outdoor sports, and group game playing. The camp even throws one large birthday party for all of the children, which Karolyn calls “the highlight” of the week. Kids who have never experienced a birthday party before were treated to bounce houses, face painting, balloon artists, snow cones and more. Each child was even gifted an MP3 player to take home with them at the end of the night.

The experience itself is grueling for volunteers, as they tackle 13 hour days for 5 days straight. And while Karolyn wrapped the week feeling both physically and mentally exhausted, she tells us that she’s already registered to volunteer at next year’s camp. That’s the commitment of a true Do Gooder right there!

Thank you for making a difference, Karolyn!
