At the recent culture sessions, Jackie displayed a graphic of a propeller (or whirligig, if that’s what you see).
At the center is “cause”—our organization’s reason for being, to bring peace of mind to everyone we touch.
What moves that cause into action? Three blades that represent our three values: Do good. Be good. Make good.
Each of those blades connects to the cause through People, Performance and Profit.
The most important part, though, is what makes those blades spin and move us forward—the forces in between.
- Do good (People) progresses to Be good (Performance) through Servant Leadership that helps us improve each others’ performance.
- Be good becomes Make good (Promises) because of a Learner’s Mindset that helps us operate more profitably—so we can keep our promises.
- And Make good continues the cycle as we Do good for more and more people through a Courageous Culture that supports openness and improvement.
Hopefully this visual can help us all see our role in the important work we all do.
