A sixth-grade English teacher in Arkansas was honored with the annual LifeChanger of the Year Spirit Award for the remarkable, record-setting support he has received in his community.
Supporters have posted 2,330 comments to Nicolas Williams’ profile on the LifeChanger website, more than any other nominee has ever had.
Nicolas teaches at Horace Mann Arts and Science Magnet Middle School in Little Rock.
He was nominated for being an exceptional teacher and leader.
He has been recognized as the teacher of the year at his school. He also works in the morning care program at a nearby elementary shool and works in the after-school enrichment program, holds dyslexia interventions and does bus duty. And he sponsors student council and the Gentleman’s club.
“He loves to accomplish goals while meeting and encouraging others along the way,” his nominator wrote. “He has yet to stop fulfilling an educational career. Currently, he’s enrolled in college to complete classes that will help him move forward in being an administrator. He is truly exceptional, and I only hope that others would recognize him as a LifeChanger.”
Nicolas was recognized in a special videoconference including Mallorie Manosh, LifeChanger program director, along with agent Gary Kandblinder.
The Spirit Award carries a $5,000 cash prize, which will be split evenly between Nicolas and his school.
