Since the Covid-19 pandemic struck, demand for food assistance has never been higher. And because National Life’s cause is to end childhood hunger in Vermont, we wanted to do something more to help.
June was Hunger Awareness Month and one of the ways we wanted to support the cause was by creating a community cookbook. We asked you to send in your favorite recipes and in return, we’d donate up to $10 to our local foodbanks.
Well, we’re happy to report that you’ve done good! With all of the recipes you sent in, we were able to create National Life’s own cookbook for good, Ending Hunger: A Community Cookbook. And the best part is, the National Life Foundation will be making a total donation of $500 to both the Vermont Foodbank and North Texas Foodbank. Think about it this way – $1.00 provides three meals to a person in need. That means that we’ll be providing 1,500 meals.
It’s not too late to contribute if you’d like to be a part of the cookbook. You can still send us your recipes at communications@nationallife.com and we’ll continue to add up to $10 to the overall donation total. Instructions can be found here.
Download a virtual copy and keep it handy for use in the kitchen. Or if you’re interested in purchasing a hard copy, let us know. All proceeds from sales will also be donated to the cause as well.
Thank you to everyone who contributed!
