We learned late last week that Washington County Mental Health Services (WCMHS) desperately needed “communication devices” for patients who are seeing mental health professionals remotely due to social distancing.
WCMHS had 1,200 Zoom teletherapy appointments in the past two weeks alone and would have had more if there had been enough devices to support the needs.
That’s when National Life IT team members Michael Morey, Danny LeBlanc, Dana Potter and Dylan Zimmerman rose to the challenge. Within two business days, they located 36 older laptops.
Dylan got permission to go into the office and build them with Windows 10 so they can host teletherapy appointments. On Wednesday morning, Dana delivered the devices to John Caceres and Eric Meade (pictured) from WCMHS.
Said John, “O. M. Gosh. The generosity of National Life is simply amazing and greatly appreciated. Regardless of age (of the laptops), there is no doubt that our clients will appreciate the gesture and use of the devices.”
