Yes, this really is a thing. We checked and here’s the proof.
National Do Something Nice Day comes on Oct. 5.
So, because of who we are as a company, let’s celebrate the day in the Do Good fashion that we’re, well, so good at.
Since the big day is a Saturday this year, let’s mark it by turning out our volunteer corps at a variety of events that we have coming up.
There’s one more opportunity next week at the Intervale in Burlington. We’re trying to fill several more slots on Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. Please follow this link and sign up to help at the Intervale’s Conservation Nursery. (Be prepared to get dirty!)
And we’ve also got a handful of opportunities at the Vermont Foodbank. They include Thursday, Wed., Oct 9; and Monday, Oct. 21. Please follow this link to sign up for them.
In Texas, Metrocrest Services near Addison has a number of ongoing opportunities, including on Sept. 24 and 27 in the warehouse and between Sept. 29 and Oct. 31 at the St. Andrew’s Pumpkin Patch in Farmers Branch. There are also slots Nov. 11-15 and 19.
And Hunger Busters in Dallas has an ongoing need for volunteers.
If you’ve got questions or would like to sign up for any of these or other options, email the Volunteer Committee.
