We’re looking to show our Do Good spirit in the community before we all get consumed by fourth-quarter business.

The Volunteer Committee has organized a handful of opportunities that we’re looking to fill before the end of October.

The new Volunteer Opportunities page on National Life Today has a pretty comprehensive rundown of nonprofits where we’ve volunteered in Texas and Vermont in recent years. It also has some specific dates that are currently available.

In Vermont, The Intervale Center in Burlington has opportunities on Oct. 2, 3 and 14.

The Vermont Foodbank in Barre has opportunities on Oct. 3, 9, 16 and 21.

In Texas, Metrocrest Services near Addison has a number of ongoing opportunities, including on Sept. 24 and 27 in the warehouse and between Sept. 29 and Oct. 31 at the St. Andrew’s Pumpkin Patch in Farmers Branch. There are also slots Nov. 11-15 and 19.

And Hunger Busters in Dallas has an ongoing need for volunteers.

If you’ve got questions or would like to sign up for any of these or other options, email the Volunteer Committee.
