A $100,000 donation was formally presented to the North Texas Food Bank by the National Life Group Foundation this week.

The Food Bank has significantly expanded in recent years and the Foundation grant reflects National Life’s commitment to its work.

In the 37 years since the Food Bank was founded in a warehouse owned by the Perot family, it has grown from providing 333,000 meals to today when it provides the equivalent of 72 million meals through its partner agencies.

The grant is designed to support all of the various programs of the Food Bank, including feeding programs for children, families, and seniors.

The amount is sufficient to help the Food Bank provide 300,000 meals over the next year.
