On Saturday, June 15th, Good Beginnings of Central Vermont presents their Climb Out of the Darkness event at 10 am on the State House Lawn in Montpelier. This event is intended to shine a light on the importance of community for postpartum families.
Good Beginnings is here to support families experiencing struggles during the postpartum period – whether or not they have a mental health diagnosis – and to connect them to other vital community resources.
The Climb is free and open to all. Browse the Listening Wall of survivors’ stories or share your own story here. Then join a stroller-friendly community walk on the bike path to the Peace Park and back.
After the walk, Climbers are invited to linger for a Self Care Tent from 12:30 – 2:00 pm. Pack a picnic lunch (or grab something from the Farmers Market) and stay for free self-care opportunities including yoga, chair massage, and therapeutic breathing.
There will also be refreshments, resources, information about advocacy opportunities, and kids’ activities.
