Yesterday, Jan Knutsen of the Vermont Agency was recognized for her good work in the community and with her clients at a surprise announcement on the Vermont campus. Jan, who is the career agent named runner-up for the 2019 Agent Do Good Award, received the award announcement during a surprise event.
Jan was nominated by two employees, Julie Bock and Allison Steinmetz. (Pictured in feature photo above: Pam Blalock, Jan Knutsen, and Manon Pudvah who helped to execute the surprise.)
Allison said, “I nominated Jan because she supports everyone so amazingly and does it from a place of complete humility. I thought it was time the light was shone on her.”
Jan’s true cause is serving others. She believes it is her job and her essence. To that end, Jan has been a coach for Girls on the Run Vermont for two years. Girls on the Run works to create a world in which every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. Jan currently coaches 30 girls in her hometown at Moretown Elementary School, inspiring them to be more joyful, healthy, and confident.
As the runner-up for the Agent Do Good Award, Jan was presented with a $2,500 check for Girls on the Run Vermont from National Life. Tears came to her eyes as she accepted the check, and she said that she considers National Life Group to be her family.
Many employees came out to enjoy the surprise festivities. Also in attendance was Nancy Heydinger, Girls on the Run Vermont’s Executive Director. She said of Jan, “She leads from her heart and wants to inspire goodness in the world.”
