As we celebrate the many reasons this vital company continues to outperform the industry, we owe a debt of gratitude to those who have seen its evolution through both challenge and triumph. It is now that we’d like to share with you some very special upcoming retirements:
MiChele Lathrop
After 33 years of dedicated service, most recently as a senior claims examiner, MiChele Lathrop is retiring effective this Friday, March 29, 2019. While most of her time was spent within the Claims (2007) and Title (1995) departments, MiChele has continuously brought immense value to CIG and to the many customers she has faithfully assisted over the past three decades. MiChele plans to spend time in retirement volunteering at her church and at the Vermont Granite Museum. She also says “if Spring ever gets here, [I’ll be] planting flowers to enjoy this summer.”
Rhonda Couillard
After 42 incredible years of service, Rhonda Couillard is retiring Friday, April 12, 2019. Putting her servant leader’s heart to good use in several roles since her original hire in 1976, we know Rhonda best as a valued member of our Training Team (since 1989!). She has had a direct and meaningful impact on so many of our employees during their journey at National Life. In retirement, Rhonda is looking forward to enjoying the great outdoors and dusting off her kayak, paddle board and bike. She has a camping trip planned this Summer and a trip to Costa Rica next February.
Please join our Business Optimization teammates on Thursday, April 11 from 10-11 am in Thrush to wish Rhonda luck in her upcoming adventures!
Dan Dowling
Dan Dowling has been an integral part of the IT team and National Life family for 32 exciting years. Dan will officially be retiring on May 10th of this year after a fantastic run. Dan’s journey has taken him from Pension Operations (1986) to Service Integration (2001) and beyond, all with hard work, dedication, and humor. Dan will enjoy more time at his lake house with his wife Robin, with plans to eventually take on some part-time work to keep him busy.
Please join our IT teammates on May 9th at 3PM in Blue Jay to say farewell and wish Dan a joyful retirement!
Darcy Roberts
After 33 years of service, what has Darcy Roberts not done? Hired in 1986, she began her journey from retention and business analyst roles to becoming the Head of the Document Management Team in 2014, then to leading our incredible Salesforce project. Darcy has always created a culture within her team that is second to none. Darcy will be retiring on May 31st, 2019. She says her retirement will include spending time with her grandchildren (she has 5!) , going to NASCAR races with their camper, training her dog crazy dog Ralphie, and traveling to see her brother and sisters that are scattered across the US (Maine, Tennessee, Colorado, Georgia, Ohio).
More information about Darcy’s retirement party will be shared as we get closer to her departure.
Cindy Cyr
We’d like to recognize that long-term employee Cindy Cyr retired earlier this month prior to this announcement being released. Cindy started with us in 1999 as a Retirement Product Services Representative, with stints as a Retirement Plan Analyst, Annuity/Variable Product Service Rep, Insurance Product Service Rep, Premium Billing Service Rep, Life Payment Center Rep and then back to the Insurance Product Service team prior to her retirement earlier this year (talk about a full career here at National Life!). We would like to thank Cindy for her 20 years of dedicated service!
Please join the CIG Executive Leadership Team in wishing all-of these amazing teammates the best in their retirement and in their future endeavors!
