National Life’s recently retired Executive Vice President Ruth Smith was honored over the weekend by LIMRA for her 40 years in the industry.

Ruth was the Continuing Education Fund Honoree at a conference over the weekend.

“Ruth’s list of accomplishments is huge, but her legacy is her optimism, energy and passion, her advocacy for Middle America and her servant’s heart,” the LIMRA program said.

LIMRA is the research and development organization for the industry.

“Throughout an industry career spanning 40 years – 20 years at national Life – Ruth B. Smith was a tireless advocate for the life insurance business and its purpose,” the program said. “At National Life, she built the independent distribution channel from scratch and was a pioneer in indexed universal life.”

Congratulations to Ruth on this honor!
