Most of us know Chris Tanguay as National Life’s quick-witted IT Infrastructure guy. But what you might not know is that when he’s not overseeing our internal systems, he’s serving as a member of the Vermont Army National Guard’s Computer Network Defense Team.
Chris is currently part of a year-long deployment supporting the U.S. Army Cyber Command in Fort Meade, Maryland. He’s one of nine Vermont guardsman that will contribute to the defense of U.S. networks and information.
The level of specificity around the deployment has been somewhat vague so far, but what we do know is that Chris and his team will be responsible for maintenance operations, security patches, intrusion detection, software updates and vulnerability scanning, among other tasks.
You can learn more about this deployment by listening to VPR’s Vermont Edition broadcast, featuring guardsman Col. Bill Wagner.
Thank you for your service, Chris – National Life is proud of all that you do!
