As you are aware, National Life provides incentives for employees to reduce their bi-weekly payroll deduction for medical premiums. For the past few years, those incentives have been being nicotine free and completing the health assessment with a biometric screening.
The incentives are valued at $500 each and reduce the premium by $19.23 per pay for each incentive.
We have seen success in the reduction of nicotine users over the years and National Life currently has only 5% of the population utilizing nicotine. Due to this success, we will be no longer offer the incentive for being nicotine free.
In 2020, National Life will still be offering two incentives valued at $500 ($19.23 per pay). The incentives for 2020 are:
- An annual physical with the National Life Health and Wellness Center or with your primary care doctor
- AND Complete the Health Assessment with biometric screening.
A physical is an important and valuable tool in managing your health. The annual physical can be completed at ANY time in 2019 to count for open enrollment 2020. To ensure you get the biometric screening taken care of, you will want to take the Wellness Screening Form to your appointment. Also, to guarantee you will receive the incentive for the physical, it is recommended you schedule your physical for a date prior to November.
The Health Assessment will need to be completed during open enrollment in November. The biometric numbers from your physical will be entered when the Wellness Screening Form is faxed to Cigna after your physical.
There will be additional information on NL TODAY and in the newsletters.
