Central Vermont Solid Waste Management District is excited to be working with the Tunbridge World’s Fair this year, and they need your help! Last year they helped fair vendors keep 6.7 tons of food scraps out of the trash by working with Grow Compost. They also diverted 250 gallons of waste oil.
This year the fair is stepping up its game with more and better recycling options: CVSWMD’s sorting stations hosted by a team of Waste Warrior volunteers, diverting all of the fair’s fryolator oil, providing cigarette buttlers, and helping reduce waste over all. CVSWMD has provided funding for 20 recycling bins and 10 cigarette buttlers to help this effort.
Do you want to be part of this amazing effort? Join CVSWMD, get a free pass to the fair, and up your recycling game! Volunteers are required to attend the training & work at least one 3-hour shift. This opportunity can be for either the active OR stationary bodies alike. Sign-up for one of the Waste Warrior training’s to learn about your role in reducing waste at the Tundbridge World’s Fair!
Training dates are Wednesday, September 12th from 5:30 – 7:00pm in Barre or Saturday, September 8th from 12:30 – 2pm in Tunbridge.
