National Life Group and Montpelier Alive have organized a community walk for Friday during the noon hour to demonstrate that Montpelier Stands With Harwood in the wake of the tragic loss of five students at Harwood Union High School.
Employees will walk from the National Life campus on the hill above downtown starting at noon and meet up with community members in front of Montpelier City Hall.
Then at 12:30 p.m., the larger group will walk a circuit around downtown, returning to City Hall, and the contingent from National Life will walk back up the hill.
The goal is to show solidarity with Harwood and the families who have lost loved ones. Donations will also be accepted for the Five Families Fund of the Mad River Valley Community Fund.
Walkers are encouraged to wear black and yellow or gold, the colors of Harwood Union High School.
If you’d like to join us, please gather in the main lobby at 11:45 a.m. If you’d prefer, you can drive downtown and join the walk in front of City Hall.
