This year’s class of 2018 interns completed their summer at National Life this week with presentations of their group projects – and the announcement of the annual intern of the year award.

Charlie Maitland, center, with Deanna Merola and Joyce LaRosa.

Charlie Maitland, who interned with the facilities team and focused on waste reduction and diversion, was recognized as the winner.

The winning project team worked with the Special Investigations Unit in compliance and produced a project to raise awareness of fraud and the SIU team.

There were 54 interns this year on both campuses, representing a wide selection of schools. They worked in all areas of the company, contributing quality work.

We wish them all good luck as many of them begin heading back to school. Some will still be on both campuses finishing projects.
