We’re having a party this weekend and everyone is invited.
Do Good Fest 2018 is only about 24 hours or so – depending on when you’re reading this! – from now.
There’s still a lot of work under way on the lawn that serves as our festival grounds.
But it’s well along in its transformation into the site of what has become central Vermont’s premier summer event.
We’re expecting to welcome somewhere around 10,000 people to our house to show how we live our Do Good values out loud.
We do that by putting on this event and turning over all of the proceeds from our parking fees to Branches of Hope, the cancer patient fund at Central Vermont Medical Center.
We’ve raised $93,000 in our first four years of the Do Good Fest. And, with the advance parking passes that we’re selling this year, the total has now soared past $100,000.
Phillip Phillips headlines this year’s party and he’s scheduled to go on stage at around 7:30.
But the festival has been programmed to draw a crowd early that will stay for the whole day. Central Vermont’s own Chad Hollister, a favorite locally, will start things off at 4 p.m.
He’s followed by Caitlin Canty, SYML and Serena Ryder.
And some of the best fireworks in the area go off as the show ends at 9 p.m.
