Have you done your full 40 hours of Good in 2016?
The Volunteer Committee is organizing a series of events for the final three months of the year designed to help everyone use their 40 hours of paid volunteer hours if they want.
One of the things we hear is that some employees would love to volunteer, but they’re not sure where to start.
Well, here’s an answer: https://weekly.nationallife.com/events/. Check out the blog where the articles for The Weekly are now published. It includes a calendar of events. You can scan through the list for anything headlined Volunteer Opportunity.
What’s there?
- The Montpelier Senior Center needs some help with mailings.
- Central Vermont Harvest will be gleaning farmers’ fields.
- Just Basics Inc. relies on volunteers to prepare and deliver food to a senior meals program.
- The North Texas Food Bank welcomes people to come in and help pack food for needy families.
These are just some of the volunteer activities that are available. If you’re interested in details or want to sign up for a particular date, let the committees know. Here’s the email for the Vermont committee and here’s the email for the Texas committee.
