National Life’s performance in 2017 continued an incredible string of successful years.
By now everyone is aware of the key 2017 metrics:
- Core earnings of $225 million – a record
- Life sales of $241 million – a record
- Flow annuity sales of $141 million – a record
- The face value of life insurance in force of $120 billion – a record
- Annuity account value of $10.8 billion – a record
But even more impressive is the growth over time:
- Core earnings have increased 36% in five years
- The face value of life insurance in force has grown 75% in five years
- Annuity account value has grown 48% in five years
Or how about these numbers?
- The number of life and annuity policies has reached a record high 922,000
- That’s a five year growth rate of 44% and a 10-year-growth rate of 75%
- The number of independent agents grew 27% in 2017 to 15,500
- The number of full time career agents stands at over 800
National Life’s sales growth has made it one of the fastest growing life insurance companies in America. In industry rankings maintained by LIMRA, the company climbed from being the 32nd largest life insurance company in 2011 to the 18th largest company in 2016 for individual life insurance sales. The 2017 rankings should be released later this month.
Through the first nine months of 2017 National Life’s growth in life sales and annuity sales far outpaced the industry as a whole, according to LIMRA data.
