Spreading The Good Is A Two-Way Street

At National Life Group Doing Good is in our blood. There are many different ways in which we each Do Good and for Javier Carlos it means going above and beyond for your country.

Javier is a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps, but to those who know him at National Life he is a Junior Accountant in FMG.

He took leave for active duty in January but was quickly missed. “Our team creatively organized a box of wishes for him a few weeks ago,” said CFO Bob Cotton. Not long after, Javier sent back a heartfelt letter thanking his co-workers for the care package. “The spirit and sentiments of his reply exemplify our NL culture,” Bob said.

As soon as the package arrived June 16, Javier took to his computer to let his co-workers know they were also being missed. “Today, I opened my mailbox and found something extraordinary,” he wrote. “Thank you all for the thoughtful pictures and notes, you have no idea how much it meant to me to hear from you all.”

He said he can’t wait to be back preparing financial statements and assured his co-workers he will be back by year’s end safe and sound. He is currently serving in Quantico, Va. “I miss all of you, having great colleagues is what makes work the dream job,” Javier said “I am very lucky to be part of NL, where there’s no shortage of amazing individuals.”

He is currently being trained to be a platoon leader in the Marines and will remain in the Reserve Branch for the foreseeable future. He ended his note with a final thank you to his co-workers in FMG. “I greatly miss and appreciate you all, cannot wait to return back home.”
