Alden Guild, 87, of Montpelier, a retired general counsel of National Life, passed away peacefully in the afternoon on January 13, 2017, at his winter home in Southern Pines, North Carolina, with his loving family at his side.
A complete obituary with plans to celebrate his life in Vermont will be forthcoming.
Guild spent many years at National Life where he is remembered fondly by those with whom he worked.
He is also remembered in the industry as the author of a trio of books related to business regulation, copies of which are in the National Life archive. They were: “Stock-Purchase Agreements & The Close Corporation,” “Professional-Partnership Purchase Plans,” and “Business-Partnership Purchase Agreements.”
Guild was a longtime resident of Montpelier and a respected member of the business community.
