From Scott Rogers, Head of Facilities:
In my most recent Facilities update email, I mentioned how busy we are this spring. While we do have a lot of work going on, it’s important to take a moment to acknowledge some very important individual achievements within our team that have happened over the past weeks.
Kedric Walls has received his Facility Management Professional (FMP) certification from IFMA – the International Facility Management Association. The FMP requires roughly 2 years of coursework and testing in four areas: Project Management, Business and Finance, Leadership and Strategy and Operations and Maintenance. Kedric’s hard work and demonstrated knowledge are now officially recognized by the world’s largest organization for facility managers.
Joe Blais has been promoted to Operations Team Lead, overseeing the building trades, modular furniture and office setups. Joe has been instrumental to our team’s success over the past few years, and his desire to share what he knows with others has always been readily apparent. This promotion to Team Lead will formalize his role of “teacher”, and allow him to continue with his personal and professional growth through helping others and sharing his knowledge.
Dawn Rivers has been promoted to Purchasing Manager. “If Dawn can’t get it, you don’t need it” should be the motto hanging outside her office, as Dawn has helped pretty much everybody in the organization at one time or another to get what they need. Quiet, unassuming, and as steady as they come, she has ensured rock solid performance of our purchasing team, while at the same time negotiating contracts (and cost savings) with our vendors at every turn. We’ve had the benefit of relying on her knowledge for 40+ years, so she has become the “go to” for any and all questions related to purchasing.
Megan Wright has been promoted to Senior Purchasing Agent. The other half of our dynamic duo of purchasing, Megan has consistently stepped up and demonstrated her purchasing acumen. Whether helping support purchasing needs for the field, or procuring supplies in the early stages of the pandemic, Megan gets it done under pressure. Megan has also been training with Dawn the past few years to learn every aspect of the business, and her growth and development has been impressive.
Andrew Hankerson and Randy Fisk have each completed the next leg of their career development journeys by acing their final exams and their current semesters of trade school – Andrew in plumbing and Randy in electrical. Both of them have worked very hard to not only accumulate the required on-the-job training hours, but to attend classes in the evenings in pursuit of their professional licenses. Watching their growth and development has been exciting, and the entire team is behind them as they continue their journeys.
We’re mighty proud of these folks. Please join me in congratulating all of them on their achievements
