As we know it today, campus security services are provided under contract by SSC. They have been a good partner and we have enjoyed working with their Connecticut based leadership team. However, as National Life continues to evolve forward, our support services must evolve too. It’s more important than ever to have a Safety & Security Team who align with our culture and our values, while representing our brand. In that spirit, we’ve made the decision to bring the safety and security functions in house.
The newly formed NLG Safety & Security Team will report directly to Chris Longchamp, our Safety & Security Team Manager. Positions will be posted on May 16th, and we’ve encouraged existing SSC staff to apply. We anticipate that the transition from SSC to NLG will be completed by July 11th.
This change will be transformational as we will have direct ownership of staffing decisions, and can provide the tools and training needed for the team to succeed. As importantly, the team will enjoy the wide array of benefits offered by National Life and this will allow us to form a cohesive team that enjoys Doing Good every day. Our Safety & Security Team will be brand ambassadors who welcome associates, guests, and visitors to our campus with a smile, and with a consummate security professional under the surface. We are entrusted with keeping our campus safe, and at the same time we are a main touch point for everybody who comes through the front door. We don’t take either responsibility lightly.
