We have thousands of agents who go into the nation’s schools representing us as they seek to help educators plan for their financial futures.

It’s tough work because the 403(b) and 457(b) markets are very competitive. And it’s also hard to get into schools because of tighter restrictions related to preventing school violence.

So National Life offers what we call 403(b) certified training. We bring agents in – or we go to them – and train them about our products and some best practices for how to get in front of teachers.

As we have done with other parts of the business, we’ve also taken the opportunity to provide a version of the training internally to employees to give us all an opportunity to understand the challenges and opportunities our agents face.

This week, the certified training class came to the Vermont campus. There was an official version for agents. But our team also put on a class for employees.

Joseph Bousquet, Roberto Abele and Damien Adams, who all work with the retirement team and help to put on these trainings around the country, led the session.

The goal of this was to help employees understand what we do in the 403(b)/457(b) markets and how their jobs interact with that aspect of our business.

National Life has a proud story to tell because we are a pioneer and a leader in the 403(b)/457(b) markets. If you ever have any questions about this part of our business or how agents work in the field, please reach out to Joe, Robert or Damien.
