Do you still have paid volunteer hours left to use for the year? Well it’s not too late to sign up to volunteer this fall.

Check out these opportunities where you can use your  paid volunteer hours, and help to spread the good.

Instead of completing a survey, please email the Vermont Volunteer Committee and the Texas Volunteer Committee to sign up for an event and you’ll receive a meeting invite with all of the info that you will need.

Community Harvest of Central Vermont

We just received an urgent request from our friends at Community Harvest of Central Vermont. Today from 9am – 10:30am and Saturday 9am – noon they have two-600 ft beds of carrots to harvest.

This food feed those in our community who have limited access to healthy, fresh local food.

These carrots will go directly to our local Central Vermont food shelves, senior meal programs and schools with free and reduced meal programs.  Please d email Allison Levin to sign up and get the details about locations and recommended attire (it may be muddy): communityharvestvt@gmail.com.

Vermont River Conservancy

The Vermont River Conservancy seeks Volunteers for their annual mailing the week of November 6th.

They are a local non-profit working statewide to protect land along our rivers, and they send out one fundraising appeal mailing each year.

Help is needed to hand-address envelopes, write a short note on the letters (they provide sample notes), folding inserts, sealing and placing a sticker on the envelope as well as a stamp.

They are happy to offer space in their downtown Montpelier office or they can provide volunteers with all they need to get the letters out from wherever is most convenient. Hours are flexible as well.

Please contact Richarda Ericson at vrc@vermontriverconservancy.org or call 802-229-0820 to sign up to help the week of November 6th.
