More than 100 leaders from throughout the organization came together in both Texas and Vermont to focus on the company’s “why” as well as on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
The half day summit encouraged participants to think differently and creatively to facilitate National Life’s on-going, sustainable growth. Said Mehran, “The topics we covered today are essential as we look towards doubling the size of this company.”
After the two sessions concluded, the original Culture Fellows passed the torch to the next generation of Fellows. The incoming group includes Nikki Cook, Yoon-Mi Jaquez, Kaj Samsom, Max Robinson, Jacob Marley, Crystal Trepanier, Marco Campa, Shannon Melton, Tamara Kushwaha, Teresa Millard, Kara Saylor, Orlando Aguilar, Brittany Winston, and Meghan Meyer.
Finally, as is the tradition of this annual Leadership Summit, Mehran announced this year’s 7C recipients. Reflecting his practice of weekly personal self-reflection of key attributes, Mehran presented the awards to seven leaders based on how they exemplify each of the following qualities:
Comprehension: Varun Kumar
Competency: Mark Davidson
Confidence: Nicole Frey
Conviction: Senait Menghes
Courage: Brittany Winston

Congratulations to all and thank you for your contributions!
