The 16 were chosen from a pool of 216 applicants company-wide. And in the “spirit of true vulnerability,” members of the Executive Management Team announced each participant through the process of Shock and Awe – in three athletic sentences.
Over the next eight months, the selected individuals will dive head first into the program, working their way towards completing the certificate in Strategic Thinking and Transformational Leadership.
In addition, Chief People Officer Mark Benjamin announced that all of the other applicants would be invited to join a special leadership training program that – like the Strategic Leadership Initiative – would be led by New York University’s Roseanna DeMaria. The Execution Leadership Institute (ELI) will kick off at the same time as the STI Program.
The Strategic Thinking Initiative (STI) was launched in 2016. In the past two years, 20 National Life students graduated after completing the program.

Congratulations to all of our participants!
